William Edward Blackburn, age 73, of Clear Brook, VA passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at Winchester Medical Center.
William was born March 28, 1944 in Romney, WV to John L. Blackburn and Rebecca V. Kesner Blackburn and raised by his sister, Beulah, and her husband Carl Strout Sr. after their passing. He was a graduate of Hampshire County High School in Romney, WV. William served in the U.S. Army and Army National Guard. He was a Calender Operator at O’Sullivan Corp and a bus driver for the Frederick County School System. William attended the Winchester Church of the Nazarene. He loved wood working, model trains, and puzzles.
William is survived by his wife, Elizabeth “Louise” Blackburn of Clear Brook, VA; his three children, Tammy Blackburn (Larry Weaver) of Winchester, VA, Amber Blake (Ryan) of Stephenson, VA, and Justin Blackburn of Clear Brook; and a granddaughter, Aleeyah L. Blackburn; three siblings, Paul Sites of Oakland, MD, Beulah Shrout (Carl Sr.) of Winchester, VA, and Nancy Terry (Larry) of Culpeper, VA; He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Roger L. Blackburn, and sister Delphia Sites Parker.
A funeral service will held on Tuesday, September 26th, at 1:00 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home in Winchester with Pastor Tim West and Rev. John Staples officiating. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:00-1:00 p.m. Burial will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park. It was his request that people attend his service in casual attire.
