Jake Mongold
Robert Lee “Jake” Mongold, 46, of Clear Brook, died Friday, February 16, 2018 at UVA Hospital.
Jake was born September 25, 1971 in Arlington, VA; the son of Donald Lee Mongold (Jill), of Berryville and Glenna S. Sawyers of Manassas. He worked as a construction manager for Toll Brothers. Jake was a soccer coach for BRYSA and coached flag football for Frederick County Parks and Recreation. He attended Manassas Park High and played on the JV and Varsity football team there.
He married Andrea Emma Harrison Rowley on August 10, 2012 in Winchester, VA.
Along with his wife, Robert is survived by his step-children, Logan Harrison Rowley and Alyssa Harrison Rowley of Clear Brook; a sister, Regan Elizabeth Mongold, of Berryville; a brother, Elliott Edward Mongold, of Berryville; In-laws, Bob and Shirley Harrison, of Winchester; sister in-law, Shawn Guagenti, (Louie) of Columbus, Ohio; brother in-law, Christopher Harrison, of Columbus, Ohio; and a nephew, Franco Guagenti.
Jake was always telling funny stories, very animatedly, and making everyone laugh wherever he went. Jake was an avid fisherman, he loved sports of all kinds especially football. He loved hunting season every year on his family’s property in Sugar Grove, WV.
Jake was very involved with Logan and Alyssa’s sports and loved coaching all of the kids on the football and soccer teams each season.
Jake loved history and traveling even if it was just a Sunday drive to explore local civil war history.
The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 4-6 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home in Winchester.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 19, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church with Pastor Greg Cumbee officiating.
