Obituary for George Leonard Pierce Sr.
George Leonard Pierce Sr., 68, of Winchester, VA, died Friday, June 29, 2018, at Winchester Medical Center.
He was born December 31, 1949 in Martinsburg, WV; the son of Marvin M. and Laura Moore Pierce. He was a member of the Goldwing Road Riders Association. George retired from Orndorff & Spaid Roofing Co.
George married Maryann Vertoske on February 19, 2016 in Winchester.
He is survived by his wife, Maryann; two children, George L. Pierce Jr. and fiancé Linda Carver of Buckingham, VA, Lou Anna M. Gallagher (Thomas) of Portsmouth, VA, two brothers, Marvin L. Pierce of Falling Waters, WV and Ronald L. Pierce of Bunkerhill, WV and two sisters, Mary L. Kerns of Martinsburg, WV and Margaret L. Cupp of Bunker Hill, WV, four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by a brother, Richard L. Pierce.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday July 3, 2018 at Shenandoah Memorial Park Mausoleum from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. A funeral will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. John Street officiating at Shenandoah Memorial Park.
Honorary pallbearers are Creed Oester, Thomas Hart, Jerry Triplett, John Triplett, Lawrence Flesher Jr. and Thomas Gallagher.
