Obituary for Edward Leon "Pete" Willis

Edward Leon Willis, “Pete”, 92 of Winchester, VA, died Monday, February 19, 2018 at Edmonds Home in Winchester.

Pete was born September 22, 1925 in Clarke County, VA, the son of the late James Edward and Mary Magdalene Lanham Willis. He served his country during WWII in the US Army. Pete worked at Western Maryland Supply as a foreman until his retirement. He was a member of Greenwood United Methodist Church.

He married Virginia Mae Hockensmith, May 30,1958, in Winchester, VA. She preceded him in death October 3,2005.

He is survived by his son, Steven Brill and his wife Cindy of Front Royal; two grandchildren, Somer Fenton and Steven L. Brill II; two great grandchildren, Ryker Fenton and Adison Fenton; his brother, Charles Willis and his wife Margaret of Winchester; his sister Charlotte Mae Elms and her husband Dick of Naples, FL; six nieces and one nephew.

Pete is preceded in death by his brothers, Raymond J. Willis and Herbert Lee Willis; sister, Linda Orndorff and one nephew.

The family will receive friends, Friday, February 23, 2018 from 12:30-1:00 p.m. at Greenwood United Methodist Church. The funeral service will be Friday, February 23, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. at Greenwood United Methodist Church with Rev. Keiko Foster officiating, burial will follow immediately after at Shenandoah Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Norman Bayliss, Jr., Matthew Anderson, Steve Brill, Norman Bayliss, III, Norman Bayliss, IV and David Werdebaugh.
