Philip W. Madagan, Sr., 76, of Winchester, passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2017 in the Blue Ridge Hospice In Patient Care Center.
Mr. Madagan was born November 19, 1940 in Winchester, VA; the son of Garland Tazawell Madagan and Sudie Virginia DeHaven Madagan. He was a custodian for over 20 years for Frederick County Public Schools.
He married Maude Isabelle Orndorff on April 25, 1964 in Williamsport, MD. Mrs. Madagan preceded him in death on August 11, 2013.
He is survived by his children, Sheila Martin and her fiancé, Jerry Morris, Jr. of Winchester, Cathy Swisher and her husband Robert of Capon Bridge, WV, and Philip W. Madagan, Jr. and his wife Stacie of Winchester; a brother, Douglas A. Madagan and his wife Genevieve of Winchester; nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home in Winchester.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 7, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Jones Funeral Home Chapel with Kevin Evans officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hebron Cemetery.
