Nelle Chrisman Huntsberry, 86 of Winchester, VA passed away November 16, 2016 at a local nursing home.

Mrs. Huntsberry was born April 12th, 1930 in Winchester, VA, daughter of Ralph A. Chrisman and Lillian harper Chrisman. She was a proud graduate of Handley High School where she cheer led with her twin sister, Nora and met her future husband Charles R. Huntsberry who preceded her in death. They were married for 62 years. Together they raised their two sons while operating Huntsberry’s Shoe Stores before moving to Austin, TX and then Carey, NC from which they embarked on road trips to the south and southwest, family beach weeks at Nags Head, NC, and numerous cruise adventures with their many friends. Mrs. Huntsberry was a member of the Braddock Street United Methodist Church and many Civic, Historical, and Political organizations.

She is survived by her sister, Nora Garber (husband George Garber, predeceased) of Winchester, VA; two sons, Charles (Bob) R. Huntsberry, Jr. (his wife, Donna Knight) and Walter Scott Huntsberry also of Winchester; three grandchildren, Michael Huntsberry (his wife, Joelle), Brian Huntsberry, both of Winchester, VA, and Elizabeth Huntsberry of Arlington, VA; two great grandchildren, Kayden Green of Abingdon, VA and Jaxson Huntsberry of Winchester and special niece, Barbara Jo McIntyre (her husband Gary), with their sons Corey and Wesley.

The family will receive friends on Monday evening, November 21, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 in Mt Hebron Cemetery with Rev. J. Adam Sowder officiating.
