Obituary for Nellie Frances Dillow

Nellie F. Dillow, 92, of Berryville, died Monday, March 13, 2017 in Winchester.
Mrs. Dillow was born August 4, 1924 in Berryville; the daughter of the late Frank Strother Kennan and Katie Huff Kennan. She had worked for Doubleday, Berryville Safeway and then with Clarke County Public Schools. She was a member of Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Friendly Bible Class and the Methodist Women. She was a member of VFW Post 9760 Ladies Auxiliary and the American Legion Post 41 Ladies Auxiliary.
She married John Leon Dillow on June 28, 1940 in Frederick, MD. Mr. Dillow preceded her in death on January 2, 1978.
She is survived by her sons, Jeryl “Jerry” Dillow and his wife, Margaret of Berryville and Charles Larrie Dillow of Berryville; daughter in law, Kitten Dillow of Stephens City; four grandchildren, Ronda Everhart and her husband, Timmie, Cheri Taylor Nicholas, Dwayne Dillow and his wife, Cathy, and Eric Dillow and his wife, Karen; ten great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, William Dillow; a brother, Edward Kennan; five sisters, Catherine Jackson, Anna Woelfel, Emma Jane Kennan, Elsie Miller and Frankie Barron; and one great great grandchild.
The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 3-5 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home in Winchester.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 20, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Jeff Butcher officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery.
