Walter Lee Ritter, 68, of Winchester, VA passed away at Winchester Medical Center, Thursday, July 26, 2018.

He was born September 13, 1949 in Winchester; the son of Ozias Dorse Ritter and Isabelle Bryan Kastak.

Walter married Linda Susan Seekford, June 1, 1968 in Williamsport, Md. Walter’s personality and drive made him a successful businessman and together, he and Linda had several businesses in Florida and were the previous owners of Clear Brook Shopping Center here in Virginia.

Along with his wife and mother, he is survived by his son, Brian Ritter and his wife Michelle of Winchester; grandson, Brett Ritter of Winchester; granddaughter, Danielle Ritter of Winchester; sisters, Bonnie Brill and her husband Doug and Sharon Ritter both of Frederick County and bothers, Sherman Ritter and his wife Abbie of Clarke County and Michael Ritter of Myrtle Beach, SC.

He is preceded in death by his father and brother, Linwood (Bubby) Ritter.

Walter had a passion for fast corvettes and enjoyed salt water fishing. He especially loved spending time with his son Brian and his two grandchildren. He had a kind heart, loved to make people laugh and always had a smile to share.

The family will receive friends on Monday evening, July 30, 2018 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home in Winchester.

A funeral service will be Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Mayton officiating. Burial will follow in Macedonia United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Arthur Grove, Doug Brill, George Glaize, Steve Ritter, Bill Bryan and Frank Ritter, Sr.
