Obituary for Hilda McKee Johnson

Hilda Virginia McKee Johnson, 94, of Winchester passed away September 3, 2015,
in Winchester Medical Center.

Hilda was born on December 19, 1920, in Winchester, VA, the daughter of
Roy and Edith McKee. She married Lester Earl Johnson, Sr., on March 2, 1940.
They celebrated 73 years of marriage together. Mr. Johnson died May 30, 2013.
Their only son, Lester Earl Johnson, Jr., died May 30, 2012.

Hilda retired from Winchester Public Schools as cafeteria manager of
John Kerr Elementary School. She was a life-long member of Highland Memorial
Presbyterian Church serving as youth leader, Sunday School teacher, and
choir member.

Surviving are daughter-in-law Betty Mowrey Johnson, granddaughter Carey Ann
Johnson, grandson Brad Andrew Johnson, Sr. and wife Yudiann, great-grandson Brad Andrew Johnson, Jr., great-granddaughters Macy A. Cook, Claire A. Cook, Quinn A. Cook, and Ysla M. Johnson, great-grandson Teagan M. T. Cook, and one great-to-be Johnson.
She is also survived by three sisters and one brother: Josephine Willey, Peggy Beeler, Barbara Cain, and Dennis McKee. She leaves many beloved nieces and nephews
and her canine companion, Ellie.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P. M., Thursday, September 10, 2015, at Jones Funeral Home with the Reverend Mary Jane Lock officiating. Visitation will
begin at 1:00 P. M., one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Shenandoah Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the youngest great-grandchildren, Teagan Cook and Ysla Johnson.
