Obituary for Amy C Barnes (Henry)

Amy C. Barnes, 95, of Winchester, died Sunday, April 5, 2020.
Mrs. Barnes was born June 22, 1924 in Morgan County, WV; the daughter of the late Peter H. Henry and Hattie Henry Henry.
She is survived by her husband Stanley D. Barnes of Winchester; daughter, Anna Lee Frederick of Berkeley Springs; two brothers, Fred Henry and Irvin Henry both of Berkeley Springs; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren, three step great grandchildren; and four step great, great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Dorothy Goglas, Mary Ellen Braithwaite, and Neva Tomlinson; three brothers, Melvin Henry, Lester Henry, and Reed Henry; and two grandchildren.
Blind from childhood, Amy raised 2 daughters on her own until marrying her present husband, Stanley. She was an amazing, courageous and loving woman, who was loved by everyone who knew her. She was an original member of Winchester Chapter of National Federation of the Blind. She formed Amy’s Kitchen Band that was the subject of several articles in The Winchester Star.
Amy attended First United Methodist Church in Winchester.
A private service will be held.
