Robert Leon Bremilst, Jr., 12/07/1949 to 01/06/2022, was called home to the arms of our lord and was greeted by his grand parents, Arthur and Mary Bremilst and John and Louse Saboites and his many animal companions across the rainbow bridge including his beloved dog, Honey. Robert was also preceded in death by his parents, Robert Sr. and Mary Bremilst and his brother, Rene.
Robert is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn (Shoemaker) Bremilst; daughter, Heidi Rivard; sons, Casey Bremilst and Kurt Schaefer; grandson, Matthew Rivard along with many other grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Richard Bremilst; sisters, Ruth Palumbo and Rachel Bremilst, and many nieces and nephews.
Robert was born and raised in Norfolk, MA. He lived most of his life there raising his two children, Casey and Heidi with his wife, Marilyn. Robert joined the US Air Force in 1969 and served as a Sargent in communications (stationed in multiple bases, his favorite in Korea), then serving in the reserves and then the National Guard. He was past commander of American Legion post 335 in Norfolk and later a member of the DAV chapter 8 in Martinsburg, WV.
Throughout the years Robert worked tirelessly to provide for his family. He held many jobs including EMT/First Responder for the town of Norfolk, mechanic, sanitation worker, and custodial superintendent for St Jude’s parish. His wife and children are thankful and proud of his selflessness in providing for them. In addition to work, Robert always found time to support his children’s passions and volunteer in the community. He volunteered with his sons’ Boy Scout Troop and was proud to watch his son become an Eagle Scout. He was also a 4-H leader for the Cottontail club of Norfolk County for 25 years. During that time he positively impacted the lives of many young people.
Robert will forever be in the hearts of those he knew and loved.
