Obituary for Robert Stanley "Bob" Crosen Sr.

Robert Stanley Crosen Sr., “Bob”, 92, of Winchester, Virginia passed away Saturday, November 28, 2020, with his family by his side at Blue Ridge Hospice.

Mr. Crosen was born August 22nd 1928, son of the late Raymond Stanley and Nora Glenna Kerns Crosen. He was retired from Abex Corp. after many years of service. He was a local race car driver in the 50’s. He was a member of the Winchester Eagles Club #824. He enjoyed woodworking, yard sales and auctions.

He married Christine Lavon Tumblin Crosen on December 25th 1960 in Winchester VA. The couple renewed their wedding vows in front of family on December 25th 2017 and their daughter Suzy officiated.

Surviving with his wife of 60 years are daughters, Cheryl Ann Crosen Clayton Burns of Summit Point WV, Robin Susan Crosen Snyder Faircloth “Suzy” of Winchester VA; a son, Raymond Snowden Crosen “Ray” (Tina) of Stephens City VA; 9 grandchildren Jennifer Lynn Crosen Foreman (Nathan), Robert Stanley Crosen III (Brenda), Bradley Michael Crosen, Amanda Elizabeth Clayton Swartz (Brandon), Donald Clayton (Lauren), Caisha Renee Clayton Sanchez (Yovani), Elisha Kegan Faircloth “Eli”, Aaron Paul Crosen and Sarah Catherine Crosen; 21 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren; and many extended family members and dear friends. A very heartfelt thank you to great granddaughter, Danyale Nicole Crosen, who has been his caregiver and provided not only compassion, but unconditional love.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Crosen was preceded in death by his son, Robert Stanley Crosen Jr., “Bobby”, a granddaughter, Melissa Dawn Snyder, a grandson, Charles Alan Crosen, son in law Edward William Burns Jr., his 3 brothers Albertus “Bert” Crosen, Max Delano Crosen Sr., and Larry Raymond Crosen; and his 4 sisters Dorothy Irene Crosen Frye, Margaret Louise Crosen Taylor, Mary Anna Lee Crosen Kirch and Linda Mae Crosen Akers.

The family will receive family and friends Thursday, December 3, 2020 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at Jones Funeral Home in Winchester.

Burial will be private. Arrangements are being handled by Jones Funeral Home 228 S. Pleasant Valley Road Winchester VA.
