Our Funeral Directors & Staff

Sonya May is our Assistant Manager and one of our licensed Funeral Directors.  She has been with Jones Funeral Home since November of 2010.  She grew up in Frederick County, Virginia, graduating from James Wood High School with honors in 1984.  After a few short years in Norfolk, VA and Pekin, IL, Sonya and her family settled back down in Frederick County.  Sonya has worked in numerous capacities, from bookkeeping at the Winchester Country Club, radio operator at the Winchester Regional Airport, to inside sales specialist at The Roof Center in Winchester.   She then found her calling as a Funeral Director and earned her degree in Mortuary Science from John Tyler Community College in Richmond, VA.  She is a past member of Kiwanis Old Town Winchester, serving as a Director on the board, and working closely with the Salvation Army; she also served several years on the board for the James Wood Athletic Association.  Sonya volunteers for the Winchester Medical Center and other community outreach programs.  In her free time, she enjoys being with her sons and grandchildren.

Natalie R. Larrick is our newest Funeral Director and has been with us since March of 2016. She was born and raised in Gore, Virginia and graduated with an advanced diploma from James Wood High School in 2017. Following graduation, Natalie moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to attend the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science where she earned a diploma in Mortuary Science as well as an Associate’s Degree in Specialized Business in Funeral Service Management. She is a Virginia 4-H All Star and a member of Round Hill Ruritan. In her free time, Natalie enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She lives in Frederick County with her husband Delmar, her dogs, Cami and Maggie, and her cats Lucy, Lily, Peanut, Butter, and Jelly.
