Condolence From: Linda Hansen
Condolence: Dear Belinda and family, I only became acquainted with your parents through Long Branch some years ago. I always sat with them, at the dinners Colette Poisson prepared for the docents and other volunteers, as they were so charming and your dad most engaging.
What wonderful parents you had and to cherish hereafter. Keep up the good work with the precious wildlife and look to them for strength when life is tough.
In Sympathy,
Linda Hansen

Condolence: I was a student of Mr. Burwell's who accompanied him to China in 1978. Because of him, I have had a lifelong interest in the Great Books and public affairs. He also inspired me to major in East Asuan Studies at Stanford University. I am truly grateful to have known him.

Condolence: Mr. Burwell will long be remembered as a co-founder of Clarke County Library and for his continued support of not only the Clarke library but of the entire Handley Regional Library as well. Even in his later years, he was always interested in what was new at the library.

In 1993, he gave some oral history stories about using Handley Library as a child. His stories appear in "Handley Regional Library--The First One Hundred Years."

On behalf of Handley Regional Library staff and Board, we extend our deepest sympathies to the Burwell family. Mr. Burwell will be greatly missed at the library.

Condolence: Carter, Belinda and families, Please know you have my deepest sympathies upon the passing of your father. He was a true gentleman and such an interesting conversationalist. It was always my pleasure to be in his company. I held great affection for both of your parents. I am humbled to have been afforded the opportunity to work with them. They enriched the tapestry of my life. I am grateful to have known both of them.
