Obituary for Irene Lucille Graham (Groce)
Irene Lucille Groce Graham, 85, of Stephens City, VA passed away on Monday, March 20, 2017 in the Winchester Medical Center.
She was born on December 5, 1931; the daughter of Otis L. and Elsie Koster Groce. Irene was a Program Analyst with the U. S. Army Corp of Engineers until her retirement in 1993. She was a member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, the Dick Bowers Bridge Club, the Holiday Bridge Club, the Winchester Elks BPOE #824 and the Stephens City Moose #2483.
Irene married Larry Clair Graham on December 10, 1976 in Mount Holly, New Jersey.
Along with her husband, Larry, she is survived by children, Karen M. Pizarek and her husband, John, of Ada, MI, Richard A. Sheldon of Mount Holly, NJ, Thomas O. Sheldon and his wife, Marilyn, of West Chester, OH and John T. Sheldon and wife, Sherry, of Douglasville, GA; step sons, Glenn P. Graham of Owings Mills, MD and Christopher M. Graham of Butler, PA; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
A brother, Roger O. Groce preceded her in death.
A funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, March 24, 2017 at Jones Funeral Home in Winchester with Rev. Brendan W. Bartlett officiating. A reception will follow the service at the Winchester Elks Lodge. Burial will be private in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in Irene’s honor may be made to a charity of your choice.
