Obituary for Christine Elizabeth Gibbs (Jobe)

Christine E. Gibbs, 90, of Winchester, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at Blue Ridge Hospice Residential Center.
She was a loving mother who loved her children, church, friends, and most of all our Heavenly Father. She will be greatly missed but we have the promise that we will see her again. Earth is poorer but heaven is richer as her life’s journey here is over and her new life has begun.
Mrs. Gibbs was born August 13, 1925 in Boyce, VA; the daughter of the late Allie Lester Jobe and Alma Cullers Jobe. She previously had worked for Frederick County and Winchester Public Schools, Winchester Memorial Hospital, Shawnee Springs Nursing Home and Home Instead. She was a member of Winchester Church of God.
She was married to Raymond Clifford Gibbs. Mr. Gibbs preceded her in death on October 17, 1989.
She is survived by her children, Barbara Lee Caudill and her husband Bobby of Culpeper, VA, Anne Smals of Winchester, David Gibbs and his wife Theresa of White Post, VA and Karen McNickle of Stephens City; a sister, Juanita Sedwick of Rileyville, VA; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Kenneth Jobe and Glenwood Jobe.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday morning from 10 – 11 a.m. at Winchester Church of God. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Pastor Darrell W. Waller officiating. Burial will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be made to Winchester Church of God, 2080 N. Frederick Pike, Winchester, VA 22603 or to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 W. Cork Street, Winchester, VA 22601.
