Jeff and My Last Day at NGA

I had retired from NGA in 2015, and I remember Jeff often peeking around our cubicle walls and saying, "There's apple fritters at my desk if you're interested." Those apple fritters were absolutely delicious, and it always revved everyone's spirit up! Jeff was that kind of special person who can brighten anyone's day with his candid and often humorous views on life and work while snacking by the candy dish (our office version of a water cooler). Jeff was also a very kind and thoughtful person. On my last day at work, I came in to find a Redskin Celebration sheet cake on my desk. No one seen who had brought it in. I figured someone left it by mistake (since I wasn't a sports fan) and the owner will eventually come pick it up. As I was closing out my work accounts, Jeff stopped by and told me last night as he was headed home he wasn't sure if anyone planned a farewell celebration for me so he stopped by the grocery store to pick up something for me, but all they had left was the Redskin sheet cake. He figured it was better than nothing and bought it. I was quite touch by his gesture to ensure I had a proper send off.  Later, the office did have a little celebration for me as everyone wished me luck and said their goodbyes to me.  Everyone noted the Redskin cake and commented they didn't know I was a Redskin fan, and I would say I'm not, and I would tell them this story.  The cake turned out to be quite a hit as it was very fresh, and absolutely delicious! Jeff made my last day quite memorable! :)

I have attached a photograph from my retirement luncheon taken on August 19, 2015. I am not sure if Jeff had showed you this photo before but I am the one in green sitting down on the far right near Jeff.    To the Moler family: The world has lost someone very special.  May the love of family and friends comfort and strengthen you in the days ahead.   Frances Arrant
