Roger Lee Fishel Sr., 71, of Stephenson, VA passed away on Friday, March 3, 2017 at his residence.
Roger was born April 27, 1945 in Winchester; the son of the late Josphine Clark and Charles Fishel. He married Shirley Jane Fishel on June 16, 1974 in Winchester. Roger retired as the owner and operator of Denny’s Furniture Store after having worked at the store for almost 50 years. He was a member of Victory Church. Roger was a life member of the Greenwood Volunteer Fire and Rescue and he was a member of the Eagles Club.
Roger is survived by his wife and six children; Tina Ashby, and fiancé Richard Morrison, of Stephenson, VA, Tammy Mitchell, and husband James, of Inwood, WV, Kimberly Aguilar, and husband Alberto, of The Plains, VA, Angela Fishel of Winchester, Robin Howett, and husband Richard, of Winchester, and Roger Fishel Jr. of Luray, VA; brothers Garvin Fishel, and wife Patty, of Winchester, and Mark Fishel of Winchester; sister Ruth Ann Fishel of Winchester; twenty-three grandchildren; and twenty-three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one grandchild, Gwynneth Fishel, a brother, Charles “Billy” Fishel, and son-in-law, Raymond Ashby.
A visitation will be held Tuesday March 7, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home in Winchester. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday March 8, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home with Pastor Len A. Burdick officiating. Burial will follow in Little Mountain Methodist Cemetery.
