Obituary for Nancy Carolyn "Sissy" Cope (Horrocks)
Nancy Carolyn Cope passed away on September 11, 2017 at the Winchester Medical Center after a long battle with cancer. She retired from the CIA after forty plus years of dedicated service to her country. She enjoyed traveling and racing with her late husband, making homemade beaded Christmas ornaments, sewing, shopping on QVC and was an avid reader.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Cope; father, James Horrocks; mother, Ernestine Strunk; father in law, Jack Cope; sister, Linda Thomson and brother in law, Bram Bekooy.
Nancy is survived by brothers, James and William Horrocks; sisters, Ellen Thompson and Barbara Bekooy and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 15, 2017 at Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Mayton officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the National Breast Cancer Foundation in her memory.
