Obituary for Sandra Faye Byrum "Sandy" Schoenthaler (Blevins)
Sandra Faye Byrum Schoenthaler, “Sandy”, 79, of Gore, VA, died July 26, 2018 at Evergreen Health and Rehab Center in Winchester, VA.
Sandy was born June 10, 1939, in Wichita Falls, TX; the daughter of the late Otis and Fay Kehr Blevins. She worked as a Realtor for many years in Winchester. Sandy was a volunteer with Blue Ridge Hospice, CCAP and the Olive Branch Food Pantry. She loved crocheting, bowling, fishing, traveling, playing cards and keeping herself well educated. She also played the piano and organ for her churches.
She married George W. Byrum , Jr. in 1956, in Lawrence, KS. He preceded her in death in 1981. She then married Martin Schoenthaler, July 4, 2004. He preceded her in death, June 22, 2013.
She is survived by her daughters, Debbie Rusk (David) of Gore, Terri Keller of Winchester, and Roxie Dodson (Ken) of Winchester; sister, Linda Strong (Marvin) of Baldwin, KS; brothers, Michael Blevins (Jo) of Lawrence, KS, and David Blevins (Sheryl) of Lawrence, KS; six grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.
Sandy is preceded in death by her brothers, Monty Blevins and Daniel Blevins and her sisters, Sheila Park and Betty Estes.
There will be a private family service and celebration of her life.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 West Cork Street, Winchester, VA 22601.
