Loring William  Waters
Loring W. Waters, 85, of Frederick County, VA, passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 in the Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Waters was born December 27, 1927 in Luray, VA, the son of the late James Ernest and Adria Susan Waters. He worked for Paul Melon Security for nine and a half years, the Virginia State Police for twenty seven years and The Department of the Interior in Shenandoah National Park for eleven years.
He was an honorary member of The Hoppers Auto Club Winchester, VA.
He married Jean Griffith Waters on November 6, 1954 in Luray, VA.
In addition to his wife, Jean, he is survived by a son, Dennis W. Waters and his wife, Donna of Frederick County; a son in law, William A. Jenks of Capon Bridge, WV, and two grandchildren, Caroline Jenks and Hunter Waters.
A daughter, Susan Waters Jenks; brothers, Amos Waters, Ralph Waters, Arthur Waters and Alvah Waters and sister, Kathleen Sudduth all preceded him in death.
Family will receive friends Friday afternoon, December 13, 2013 from 1:00-2:00 pm at Jones Funeral Home in Winchester. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Elder Gary Utz officiating. Burial will be in Lamp’s Memorial Church Cemetery after the service.
Pallbearers will be Keith Griffith, Jeremy Griffith, Patrick Grim, Scott Newlin, Randy Newlin and Johnathan Griffith.
Memorial contributions may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 West Cork Street, Winchester, VA 22601.
